The legendary Spa-Sofia-Liège (originally Liège-Rome-Liège) was an extreme long-distance rally that was held between 1961 and 1964.
Participants drove non-stop in four days and nights over more than 6,000 kilometers across Europe.
The rally was known as one of the toughest and most exhausting motorsport and auto racing events in the world. The route took drivers and their cars from the start in the Belgian Spa to deep into Bulgaria and back to Liège. The event was at the time part of the so-called Marathon de la Route.
