Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
A 20th-century wooden side game table in the Sorrento style from the United Kingdom, with a central pedestal, dimensions 81 cm high, 43 cm wide and 37 cm deep (open top 87 cm wide), weight 15 kg, featuring refined marquetry with floral and geometric motifs in various woods, with minor veneer losses on the pedestal and a fully functioning hinge mechanism and drawer.
Description from the seller
Splendid central-pedestal game table, crafted in the style of the famous artisanal productions from Sorrento (Italy). This elegant and clever occasional piece stands out for refined marquetry work with floral and complex geometric motifs, using different precious woods to create superb contrasts.
Open top dimensions: Width 87 cm | Depth 37 cm
The piece is in excellent overall condition and features a superb, highly polished patina. The hinge mechanism and the drawer operate perfectly.
As it is an antique piece, it shows discreet signs of time that add to its charm. In particular, there are a few slight localized losses of marquetry on the pedestal. These small veneer gaps are very discreet, blend naturally into the wood patterns, and do not in any way detract from the overall aesthetics or the table's solidity (see detailed photos of the feet).
