Willem Knoll – Mid-Century Modern Daybed with Rattan Panels – Germany, 1950s
Rare and elegant Mid-Century Modern daybed by Willem Knoll, produced in Germany during the 1950s.
This exceptional model features beautifully sculpted wooden armrests, woven rattan side panels, a solid wooden frame and an ingenious convertible construction. The piece can be used as a sofa, lounge bed or daybed, making it both functional and highly decorative.
The combination of warm wood tones and woven rattan creates a light and sophisticated appearance typical of the finest German modernist furniture of the 1950s. Models of this type are rarely found on the market today.
The original metal spring support system is present and remains functional. The frame is sturdy and stable. Cushions are included.
