Description from the seller
Antique Soehnle Market and Shop Scale – Germany around 1900–1915
Beautiful and rare early market and shop scale by the Soehnle company from Germany, presumably from the Art Nouveau period or the early Imperial era (circa 1900–1915).
The scale features an original enameled dial with kilogram and pound scales, a decoratively designed metal case with Art Nouveau motifs, and the original metal pan. The historic manufacturer logo with a globe and radiating star is preserved on the dial.
The mechanism responds to load, and the scale is in authentic, unrestored original condition with age-appropriate patina, signs of use, and some rust traces. It is precisely this original preservation that gives the object its special historical character.
Dimensions
* Total height: 32 cm
* Diameter of the pan: 22.5 cm
* Weight of the scale: approx. 1.7 kg
Condition
Good age-appropriate original condition. Enamel dial with normal aging and wear. Metal pan has a few dents. Mechanism is movable. No evident later restorations.
A decorative and collectible example of German scale-making art from the period before the First World War.
