Description from the seller

Elegant fine white porcelain tea service produced by Seltmann Weiden in Germany, during the American occupation period after the war. The mark “Germany U.S.Z.” (United States Zone) visible under the pieces helps locate its manufacture between 1946 and 1949.

Clean, harmonious lines, characteristic of postwar German design, heralding the clean forms of Mid-Century Modern. The white porcelain is enhanced by an elegant double gold trim outlining the contours of each piece.

The service comprises 28 pieces:

12 cups (diameter 9.5 cm; height 5.5 cm)
12 saucers (diameter 14.5 cm)
1 teapot (height approx. 20 cm; length approx. 24 cm from spout to handle)
1 milk jug (width approx. 14 cm)
1 sugar bowl (width 6 cm between handles)
1 sugar bowl lid

Remarkable condition. The porcelain is free from cracks, chips, or repairs observed. The gilding is particularly well preserved, with only very light signs of use and minimal wear, testifying to careful preservation over the decades.
