Specimen: 4 Snipe / Woodcock prints by von Wright, a limited edition lithograph from the 1920s, in excellent condition, 37.5 × 28 cm, Sweden.
Description from the seller
A great set of 4 lithographic prints from the von Wright brothers' ”Svenska Fåglar efter Naturen och på Sten Ritade”, published during the period 1917-29.
The three European snipes and their cousin the Woodcock are here illustrated with great care and passion, all the details meticulously copied from the real birds - their similarities and yet also their individual characters drawn to perfection.
Created by the world-famous ornithological illustrators the von Wright brothers, the monumental work on Sweden's birds stands today as one of the finest of its epoch.
The large format – 375 x 280 mm – allows the fine, detailed and very precise illustrations to fully come to their right. These prints look fabulous in a frame. The condition of this piece is excellent, the colour standing out wonderfully despite the ca. 100 years that have passed since the printing.
If you win more than one, I'll send them together and you will only pay one shipping fee.
