Description from the seller
Spiral Library Staircase in Regency Style – Fine Wood and Leather Inlays – Second Half of the 20th Century
An enchanting and refined library staircase: a four-step spiral ladder, ideal for adding a touch of classical elegance to a study, a drawing room, or a private collection.
The piece is inspired by English Regency style. The frame is entirely made of fine wood with a warm amber tone, featuring an elegant central column (upright) finely turned that serves as the handrail and ends with a decorative knob.
The peculiarity of this piece lies in the details of the steps: each step is enriched with a leather inlay in tan color, finished along the edges with a refined gold-pressed Greek key motif, typical of high-quality craftsmanship.
In addition to its original function of reaching the higher shelves of bookcases, today this object lends itself magnificently as a decorative element to be used as a plant stand, an exhibitor for works of art, or for precious books.
