Description from the seller
Mamiya 6 IV + Olympus D.Zuiko F.C. 7.5cm 1:3.5
A working classic 1950s Mamiya 6 IV — a 6×6 medium format folding rangefinder camera made in Japan by Mamiya Optical Co., Ltd. This is one of the most respected post-war Japanese folding cameras, distinguished by Mamiya's unique focusing mechanism in which the film plane (not the lens) moves to achieve focus — an unusual engineering solution highly appreciated by collectors. Fitted with the well-regarded Olympus D.Zuiko F.C. 7.5cm f/3.5 lens and a Seikosha-MX leaf shutter, this camera produces beautiful 6×6 square images on 120 roll film (12 exposures per roll).
Including:
- Mamiya 6 IV camera body
- Olympus D.Zuiko F.C. 7.5cm 1:3.5 lens (fixed)
- Seikosha-MX leaf shutter (B, 1 sec – 1/500 sec)
Appearance:
The chrome top plate and leatherette body covering are in good condition for a camera of this age (1950s). Only minor signs of normal use are visible — no major dents or serious damage. The folding bed mechanism opens and closes correctly.
Function:
6×6 medium format folding film camera with coupled rangefinder, leaf shutter, and Mamiya's unique film-plane focusing system.
- Shutter: fires correctly (confirmed)
- Folding bed mechanism: opens and closes correctly
- Film advance knob: operates
- Focus wheel: operates
- Rangefinder window, viewfinder, ASA reminder dial, depth-of-field calculator dial: all present
- Uses 120 roll film (12 exposures of 6×6 per roll)
- Fully mechanical operation — no battery required
As this is a vintage camera, full functional testing (including precise shutter speed accuracy) has not been performed. Please consider it as offered in working vintage condition, suitable for collection, display, or use with further servicing if desired.
Bellows note:
The bellows appear visually intact with no obvious holes or tears in the photos. However, a full light-leak inspection has not been performed; for actual film use, a light-tightness check by a service technician is recommended, as is common for vintage folding cameras of this era.
Optical system:
The Olympus D.Zuiko F.C. 7.5cm f/3.5 lens shows no obvious fungus, separation, or major scratches in the photos. A small amount of dust may be present, but no serious defect affecting shooting is visible.
Notes:
This camera uses 120 medium-format roll film (still widely available). It is a true mechanical camera — no battery is required for any function. Please check the photos carefully for the exact condition and accessories.
