The Philips 408 turntable (also known as model GA 408) is a classic belt-driven turntable with an automatic stop mechanism, designed for 33 and 45 rpm speeds. It is equipped with an AC-synchronous motor, supports options such as the GP213/GP400 cartridges, and requires an external phono preamplifier to be connected to an amplifier. With a solid vintage build in wood and aluminum and a relatively simple mechanism, it is especially appealing to enthusiasts of tractor-free listening and nostalgic audio setups.
