AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Traditional Chinese Water Pipe – Hand Engraved Brass, Qing Period / Vintage Collection (Complete)

Description:
I am selling a rare and particularly interesting oriental collectible: a traditional Chinese water pipe made entirely of brass, dating from the late 19th / early 20th century (Qing period).

The object is a true piece of Asian art. The water tank is decorated by extremely fine hand engraving with a complete narrative scene set in a mountainous landscape. Mythological characters and Taoist sages are depicted (a musician with a flute, an old man with a beard, a female presence with a leaf cloak) and a traditional basket of fruits, symbolizing longevity. The natural patina of time has deposited in the grooves of the engraving, giving the design a special depth.

The piece is complete and disassemblable, containing all the original accessories:

Main body with decorated tank for filtering smoke.

Removable long brass stem (mouthpiece).

Original metal tweezers for handling embers.

Original thin brush for cleaning the hearth.

Removable cylindrical container for storing tobacco, equipped with a functional hinged lid.

Condition: Very good for its age, the piece is complete (a rare thing for these models, where small accessories are usually lost) and retains a superb historical patina of old brass. All components fit together correctly. A special object for office decoration or oriental art collectors
