Description from the seller

Guéré of Côte d'Ivoire. An original piece of more than

The Guéré designate an ethnic group of Côte d'Ivoire, living in the western region of the country, near Liberia. It is settled in the departments of Bangolo, Duékoué, Guiglo and Toulepleu and has lived in Eburnie for more than seven centuries. While this people today mainly live between the Cavally River (the Liberian border), the Sassandra River (to the east) and south of the regions of the 18 Mountains, in the past they were settled further north, in the current Dan country, but were gradually forced to retreat into the forest that characterizes their region, mainly due to the Mandingue invasions of the seventeenth century.

The Wobés and the Guérés are actually one and the same people, the We people, artificially divided by the French colonial administration.
