Description from the seller
David Hockney
*1937 Bradford/UK - 2026 London
was a British painter, graphic artist, stage designer, and photographer. He is regarded as an influential 20th-century artist with a focus on landscape painting and portraiture. Hockney is often described as a leading figure associated with Pop Art, yet he has his own distinctive artistic profile.
His works achieve high prices at auctions. For example, his painting “Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures, 1972)” sold at Christie’s on November 15, 2018 for 90.3 million US dollars. By 2019 it was the most expensive painting by a living artist ever sold at auction worldwide.

Artist posters are posters designed by visual artists (in the traditional sense) primarily for their own promotion, to announce, for example, an exhibition in a museum or gallery. The posters are typically printed and sold in a predominantly small print run (usually around 100–200 copies).
Posters especially signed by the artist are very rare to find and offer collectors an ultimate investment with great potential for appreciation in value.
Having long been established as a separate art domain, the 1960s and 1970s saw the emergence of dedicated poster museums in the USA and Europe, and major museums such as the Modern Art Museum or the Guggenheim Museum in New York hosted pure artist-poster exhibitions, whose importance is reflected in the poster catalogs of many major artists.
