Description from the seller
Gerhard Richter
*1932 Dresden
is a German painter, sculptor and photographer. He was from 1971 to 1993 a professor of painting at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and is a member of the Berlin Academy of Arts.
Gerhard Richter ranks internationally among the 100 most important artists of our time and has for years held the No. 1 position in the world ranking "Kunst-Kompass"!
His works fetch high prices at auctions and are among the most expensive by living artists on the international art market.
“2 Kerzen, 1982”
Rare artist’s poster
Issued for the exhibition "Fast Forward" at the Dallas Museum of Art 2006
overseen by Gerhard Richter hand-signed with a black pen
Offset lithography on thin cardboard
61 x 76 cm

To my knowledge, Gerhard Richter signed the poster during his exhibition at the Bucerius Kunstforum in Hamburg in February 2011.
The sheet comes from a private collection and is stored flat, dust- and light-protected in a special graphic cabinet.

The exhibit will be carefully and securely packed so that it arrives safely.

Art posters are posters that are designed by visual artists (in the traditional sense) mainly for the purpose of self-promotion, for example to announce their exhibition in a museum or gallery. The posters are usually printed and distributed in a predominantly small edition (typically about 100–200 copies).
Particularly artist-signed posters are very rare to find and offer collectors an ultimate investment with great potential for appreciation.
Even early on, in the 1960s and 1970s in the USA and Europe, dedicated poster museums emerged, and large museums such as the Museum of Modern Art or the Guggenheim Museum in New York dedicated themselves to pure artist-poster exhibitions, whose importance is also reflected in the poster catalogs of many great artists.
