Description from the seller

Thorens TD 126 Mk III Electronic is a legendary, audiophile hi-fi class turntable. It was produced by the renowned Swiss-German brand Thorens from 1979–1986. The TD 126 series is regarded as one of the best and most advanced designs in the history of the company. Belt-driven with electronic regulation, it uses a unique 72-pole DC motor, connected to a precise tachometric system. This provides perfect rotational stability. The platter and tonearm are mounted on an independent, internally damped platform using powerful springs. This solution effectively isolates the stylus from external vibrations and the surface. At rotation speeds: Unlike standard turntables, the Mk III version supports speeds of 33 1/3, 45, and 78 RPM, allowing playback of shellac records. MKIII equipped with advanced automation features a touchless end-of-record switch, which raises the tonearm at the end of the record and stops the platter, protecting the stylus from wear.
