Jamo - J-102 Speaker set

Refurbished Jamo J-102 Studio Monitors - Denmark - 1980

A beautiful pair of vintage Danish Jamo J-102 Studio Monitor loudspeakers.

These classic 3-way loudspeakers have been carefully refurbished. The cabinets were restored and refinished, significantly improving their appearance while preserving their authentic vintage character. The front panels were refinished and the speakers were thoroughly cleaned inside and out.

The drivers were removed for inspection, the internal wiring was checked and several connections were re-soldered where required. The speakers have been tested and are fully functional.

The original Jamo woofers had previously suffered from deteriorated foam surrounds, a well-known age-related issue affecting many loudspeakers from this era. They were replaced with a matched pair of Visaton W200 woofers - quality German hi-fi drivers that provide a technically sound replacement while maintaining the classic appearance and character of the speakers.

Sound characteristics:
These speakers offer a lively, detailed and spacious sound with excellent stereo imaging. Voices and acoustic instruments are reproduced particularly well, with strong clarity and definition. Bass reproduction is controlled and accurate rather than heavily emphasised.

Condition:
The cabinets are in very attractive refurbished condition and present exceptionally well for speakers of this age. Only minor signs of age and use remain. The original grilles are present. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
