Nested cup weights - Bronze

Nice bronze cup-weight or Charlemagne stack. The lid hinges open to reveal a series of six cups of decreasing sizes, all perfectly nested inside one another.

This piece dates from the early 18th century, around 1700.

It was used to weigh valuable goods such as spices or pigments.

It's quite rare.
