Magnificent 19th Century Napoléon III Jewelry Box - Burl Wood Marquetry, Mother-of-Pearl and Brass - Key

Item description
Superb storage box / jewelry box from the 19th century (Napoleon III period), showcasing high-quality cabinetry and marquetry.

Main features
• Precious materials: Sumptuous burl wood veneer (cedar or elm) with highly contrasted knots, framed by blackened ebony-like borders.
• Refined decoration: Complex marquetry of interlaced brass fillets, punctuated by genuine mother-of-pearl inlays.
• Personalization: Central brass medallion engraved with the initials "HG" in an oval cartouche surrounded by mother-of-pearl inlays.
• Interior: Beautiful interior veneered in rosewood or palisander, with a varnished finish offering a brilliant sheen.
• Accessory: Sold with its functional key and brass lock escutcheon.

Condition:
• Very good overall condition for an object of this era.
• Some light natural wood cracks and minimal signs of use that attest to its authenticity.
• Hinges restored at the lower part and traces of glue visible in photos
