Description from the seller
Extremely rare copy dedicated and signed by William Klein (1926 - 2022) from this catalogue of the major retrospective exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. 380 pages, about 180 photographs in black and white and in color, most in double-page, large-format spreads (35 cm x 50 cm) with captions and dates at the end of the book. French text by Alain Sayag, an interview with William Klein by Quentin Bajac, and some texts drawn from William Klein’s books. Solid publisher’s cloth binding with a facsimile signature of William Klein and the title on the spine and an illustrated dust jacket. In excellent condition.
William Klein was born in 1928 in New York but spent most of his life in France, where he still resides, and the Centre National d’Art et de Culture Georges Pompidou paid him a fitting tribute in 2005 with this photographic exhibition, which is also punctuated by the major books he published: New York (1956), Rome (1959), Moscow and Tokyo (1964), Paris (2002), which have deeply influenced photographers around the world, a generation younger who followed him directly.
Copy in excellent condition with minimal wear to the dust jacket (see photo). A book from my personal collection kept with the utmost care. Shipped protected with reinforced packaging and international tracking guaranteed. For multiple purchases, possible to combine shipping with a refund of any excess postage paid via PayPal.
