Description from the seller
Antique handcrafted mirror with painted-on reverse glass – Peruvian / Hispano-American colonial style
Interesting antique mirror made of wood and reverse-painted glass, inspired by the decorative tradition of Peruvian mirrors and the Hispano-American colonial folk art.
The piece stands out for its elaborate hand-done polychrome decoration, with floral and ornamental motifs of rich color in greens, turquoises, golds, whites, and deep reds.
The technique of reverse-painted glass, together with the artisanal construction of the frame and the materials used, give the work a notable decorative presence and a marked historical character.
