Antique round walnut burl table from Lombardy, dating to 1850–1900, with a bulbous turned central column and four acanthus‑leaf carved legs, a walnut burl top, and original extending leaves in good condition.
Description from the seller
A table that is sculpture first and foremost, before being furniture. The bulb-turned central column opens into four feet carved with acanthus leaves, ending in a scroll — a work of expert hands that, for over a century, has left no mark. The round walnut burl top tells through its natural grain a story of forests and seasons, each fiber of the wood an irrepeatable design.
Louis-Philippe style, presumably late 1800s, of Lombard origin. Fine Italian artisanal craftsmanship. It preserves the original, perfectly functioning extending mechanism, complete with the era’s original extensions — a rare fortune to find them still present and intact after generations.
Direct family provenance. First sale. A piece that has stood the test of time without ever losing its dignity, ready to return to a starring role in a dining room.
Excellent condition, solid and integral construction, top with the natural patina of age. No restorations, no alterations.
Pickup at the buyer’s expense. Any dismantling and transport outside the residence are entirely the buyer’s responsibility.
