Coffee grinder (2) - Steel - hand-cranked coffee grinder

Atmospheric set of two antique table coffee grinders, both entirely made of metal and dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The left, larger grinder has a silvered or nickel-plated octagonal housing with a domed metal lid, a crank with a wooden handle, and a striking side door that opens to access the internal milling mechanism, a practical and sturdy construction.

The right, smaller grinder has a dark, ribbed metal housing with a decorative wavy lid and also a crank with a wooden handle. This grinder also features a prominent front that fully opens as a door, allowing the interior workings to be well accessible for maintenance or emptying the ground coffee.

Both grinders are in a lived-in, authentic condition, with traces of age such as oxidation and rust on the metal, consistent with their great age. It is precisely this patina that gives the set its characteristic, industrial look.
