Decorative German wall plaque in cast bronze, dating from approximately 1890–1910. The plaque depicts a finely detailed scene inspired by Der Trompeter von Säckingen ("The Trumpeter of Säckingen"), the famous romantic poem by Joseph Viktor von Scheffel.
The central relief portrays an elegant lady and a richly dressed gentleman in a garden setting, surrounded by lush foliage and architectural elements. The scene is enclosed within an ornate openwork border featuring scrolling decoration and portrait medallions, demonstrating the high quality of late 19th-century German decorative metalwork.
The lower section bears the inscription:
"Der Trompeter von Säckingen – Die Liebesrauschung"
The plaque displays excellent depth and detail, with a warm aged patina that enhances its decorative appeal.
