Nightstand - Empire style - Mahogany, Marble

Pair of Empire-style nightstands, made in the mid-seventies, characterized by an elegant walnut frame with refined mahogany inlays and ebony wood details.

The front is adorned with a dramatic feather-figured walnut veneer, enclosed by a double square border that enhances its symmetry. The black turned columns, interspersed with fluted capitals with gold finishes, recall the neoclassical taste, while friezes, grills and bronze handles complete the ensemble. The marble top, with rounded front corners, is in excellent condition. Each nightstand has a drawer and a door with a symmetrical opening, designed to be placed on the sides of the bed.

Solid and sound constructions, with slight signs of wear visible in the photographs.
