Description from the seller
Magnificent (56 cm / 11 kg) – Neo-Renaissance Style 19th Century
Spectacular antique ornamental pitcher (ewer) of large dimensions, a piece of exceptional artistic quality and monumental visual impact. At 56 cm in height and an impressive 11 kg in weight, this is a robust work in cast metal (bronze/brass), ideal for discerning collectors or to stand out in the decoration of a classical room.
The piece follows the refined Neo-Renaissance style, very widespread in Europe during the late 19th century (Victorian period).
Sculptural Details: Richly worked in high and low relief across the entire structure. It presents three-dimensional detailed figures, including cherubs (putti), floral elements, volutes, and mythological/grotesque faces at the base. The handle is imposing and meticulously ornamented.
Dimensions: 56 cm height. Weight: 11 kg (very heavy and solid piece).
Patina: Retains the dark and original gilded patina from the period, which gives depth and authenticity to the carved details.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, with no dents or visible restorations.
