This is a hand-knotted Oriental rug, made from durable, natural materials. The way it is knotted and the diversity of patterns make this rug unique and emphasize its authentic and artisanal character.
This beautiful Tibetan rug is hand-knotted with the finest, undyed wool sourced from sheep in the high Tibet region. This wool is naturally extra oily due to the cold temperatures (acts as insulation for the sheep). When this wool is used in carpets it not only provides a beautiful extra sheen but also acts as a natural protective layer. Higher quality wool is (almost) not to be found. Of course, natural color variation is visible, due to the wool that is NOT bleached prior to the first dye bath.
