The Onkyo DX-1400 is a reliable mid-range single-disc hi-fi CD player produced in 1990. The device is known for its solid Japanese build quality with a sturdy metal front panel and the use of high-quality audio components.

Digital-analog converter (DAC): Equipped with a high-quality 18-bit Burr-Brown PCM61P DAC with 8x oversampling for a very accurate and clear sound representation.
Laser mechanism: Uses the common and reliable Sony KSS-150A laser construction.
Dynamic range: 98 dB.
Signal-to-noise ratio: 100 dB.
Total harmonic distortion (THD): Extremely low with only 0.004%.
Frequency range: 5 Hz to 20 kHz.
Analog stereo L/R RCA output and a front-mounted adjustable headphone jack. Some region-specific variants also have an optical digital TOSLINK port.
