Description from the seller

19th century stoneware spirit jug with a bone-white ceramic body; internally glazed with a light glaze and externally finished with a black glaze.
The stoneware body is of continental (non-British) origin, dating to the second half of the 19th century, and was originally intended for the storage and pouring of alcoholic spirits (liqueur or distilled alcohol).

The jug is fitted with original sterling silver mounts, comprising the collar, spout and stopper, all bearing matching British hallmarks.
The silver mounts were made by William Briggs & Co., Birmingham, and are dated 1901.
The stopper and collar form a complete, original set and are not later replacements.

The combination of a continental stoneware body with English sterling silver mounts is characteristic of refined domestic or export wares produced around the turn of the 19th–20th century.

Dimensions:
– Height: 18 cm
– Width: 12.5 cm
– Weight: 550 g

Condition:
Very good condition. Structurally sound, with no cracks or repairs observed. Light wear consistent with age and normal use. Look at the pictures that are part of the description.
