Mahogany Armchair with Rush Seat, Empire / Biedermeier Influence, c. 1880–1920

Elegant antique armchair crafted from solid hardwood, possibly mahogany, featuring graceful curved armrests, tapered legs and an openwork backrest with geometric decoration. The chair retains its hand-woven rush seat, adding authenticity and character.

The design reflects the influence of late Empire and Biedermeier furniture traditions, popular throughout Europe during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The frame displays a warm reddish-brown patina and attractive grain. The chair remains structurally sound and stable. Minor signs of age and use are present, consistent with its period.
