Rare and fascinating compact portable cassette recorder from Philips, probably model EL 3302, produced in the first half of the 1960s — one of the very first compact cassette recorders ever made, in an era when Philips had just introduced the Compact Cassette format (1963), immediately becoming the global reference for this technology.

Design and construction:
The device presents itself in the characteristic vertical/portrait format of the era, with a rigid black plastic housing, brushed bronze/aluminum top panel with the main controls: STOP slider, fast-forward button, and the distinctive red record button. The cassette compartment is protected by a transparent cover. At the bottom there is the large metal speaker grille with the classic grid pattern and the Philips logo with a round shield, typical of the early 1960s.
Original black case with shoulder strap — an accessory that completes the lot and significantly increases its collectible value.

Historical context:
This appliance belongs to the very first generation of portable cassette recorders in history.
