Tenax I analog camera, model Tenax I, in very good condition and tested working.
Description from the seller
Up for auction is a rare and fascinating Zeiss Ikon Tenax I analog camera, a masterpiece of German optical engineering produced in Dresden in the late thirties, roughly around 1938. This compact and avant-garde model for its era is particularly famous among collectors for its unusual square 24x24 mm format on standard 35 mm film, a feature that makes it unique of its kind. The metal top cap houses on the left a dial for frame counting and on the right the integrated shutter release button. The camera is equipped with a Novar Anastigmat lens with maximum aperture f/3.5, renowned for its excellent contrast rendition, housed in the central optical block where the prestigious Zeiss Ikon inscription dominates. On the front, moreover, the characteristic rapid wind lever is positioned beside the lens, designed to allow an extremely fast sequence of shots without taking your eye off the viewfinder. Aesthetically, the body presents in good vintage preservation, showing a beautiful patina of time with the classic light signs of surface wear on the metallic edges that certify its age and historicity. We invite you to carefully examine the entire attached photo gallery, which accompanies and is an integral part of the description, to assess the visual condition of every single detail. An unmissable lot of high historical value to enrich a collection of vintage German rangefinder cameras.
