Description from the seller
This refined cup is an authentic Italian sterling silver (925) object, produced by Brandimarte in Florence, one of Europe’s historic capitals of art and craftsmanship.
The piece was made in a manufactory setting, not as an industrial mass-produced item. While formed using traditional techniques, the decoration was hand-finished, chased, and carefully refined by skilled silversmiths, giving each example individual character and a high level of quality.
The cup is made of solid sterling silver, not plated, with a total weight of 37 grams. Its relief decoration features floral and Renaissance-inspired motifs typical of Florentine silverwork from the late 20th century.
All hallmarks are original, clear, and fully legible, allowing precise attribution and dating:
Italian state hallmark 283 FI (Brandimarte, Florence)
925 STERLING fineness mark
BR maker’s mark
Additional Brandimarte decorative stamps
Dating: circa 1970s–1980s
Dimensions:
Height: 5 cm
Upper diameter: 4.5 cm
Lower diameter: 4.0 cm
Condition:
Very good overall condition, with only minor surface marks consistent with careful use and age. No dents, cracks, or repairs.
A collectible example of late 20th-century Florentine silver, combining traditional craftsmanship, artistic heritage, and solid material value.
