This is a hand-knotted Oriental rug, made from durable, natural materials. The way it is knotted and the variety of patterns make this rug unique and emphasize its authentic, artisanal character.
It is an exceptional-use rug with an extremely long lifespan.
This is a lightly used, cleaned rug that can be laid out as is. Special & beloved rug, very finely knotted top piece. Hand-knotted in Turkmenistan, by the Teke tribe(s). Comparable to the better-known Yomut, but even more exclusive. These Teke tribes did not knot carpets as often as the larger Yomut tribes. Thereby even rarer and full of stories, open to one’s own interpretation. A wonderful rug made of 100% wool, hand-knotted somewhere between 1930 and 1950 and still in a remarkably good condition for its age.
Main color: Red
Accent colors: Cream and brown- and blue-toned shades
Details: Rich abrash (intrinsic natural color differences); Much sheen; Beautifully clean and fresh; Gorgeous luster; Depending on the viewing angle the rug has a lighter and a darker side; Rare object; Finely knotted; Large & impressive rug full of stories; 100% wool.
Signs of wear: Minimal, barely visible signs of use, inevitable on rugs of this age.
