Description from the seller

Extensible Vintage Wooden Sewing Cabinet with Cantilever System - 60s/70s. Fold-out sewing box or jewelry box in three levels. Excellent cabinetry work with dovetail joints.

Elegant and functional vintage-style sewing cabinet or storage box, manufactured in Central Europe in the mid-century (circa 1960-1970). This piece stands out for its ingenious accordion or cantilever opening system, a utilitarian design classic that allows access to all compartments with a single smooth movement.

The sewing cabinet is structured in three well-defined levels, offering a total of 5 independent compartments: a long, high-capacity base and four upper square drawers (two on each side) protected by hinged lids with metal hinges. The construction reflects good period cabinetry, evidenced by the beautiful and sturdy dovetail joints visible at the corners of each module, ensuring the durability of the structure. The whole set sits on stylized crossed angular legs in the shape of an inverted “V,” giving it an attractive lightness and optimal stability when fully open.

Natural wood (beech and noble plywood), solid wood slats for the braces, and metal hardware. Excellent vintage condition. The articulated mechanism operates with complete smoothness and precision. The wood retains a light, warm, and clean patina, with no ink or moisture stains inside the drawer interiors. The joints remain firm and there are no loose parts. An object ready to decorate or use from day one.
