Torck, a Dutch maker, with a solid beech wood piece dating from 1930–1940, in good used condition with minor signs of age; 55 cm high, 27 cm wide, 24 cm deep, weight 4 g.
Description from the seller
A piece of interwar European cabinetmaking, manufactured by the famous Torck (Deinze) workshop, renowned for its highly durable furniture. It preserves its original riveted metal plaque, making it a rarity for collectors.
It stands out for its continuous lower supports in a 'U' shape, made of solid wood steamed-curved (inspired by Thonet technique) and finished with four ball feet.
Built in solid beech wood with a golden honey patina. The design contrasts with a large central curved handle in chrome-plated tubular metal, which adds a modern and ergonomic touch.
It uses a cantilever system via lateral wooden braces that unfold the compartments smoothly to the sides, revealing a wide and clean interior space.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition for its almost 90 years of age.
Mechanically impeccable. The dovetail joints of the drawers remain firm and without structural openings.
The wood shows micro-scratches and usage marks typical of its history that enhance its authenticity, without compromising its solidity at all. (Note: The minerals and shells visible in the images are decorative and not included).
