Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Exakta VX 500 (c.1969) camera with Exakta mount, tested and working, in very good physical condition, with a Meyer-Optik Görlitz Domiplan 50mm f/2.8 lens for 35 mm film, serial number 1543524.
Description from the seller
This Exakta VX 500 is the same version as the Exakta VX 1000. It was a new version with the instant return mirror and linkage for automatic diaphragm, but it is the simpler version of the VX1000.
The shutter speeds are limited to: B, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250 and 1/500 sec
From the Exakta book: Cameras 1933 - 1978 by Clément Aguila and Michel Rouah, these data clearly show that this was the last Igahee version in the VX range.
After 35 years of existence without notable changes, an end has come in a long history of this beautiful camera with left-handed operation.
The camera and lens have been checked for proper operation.
All shutter speeds work perfectly.
The shutter curtains are still light-tight with no perforations.
The prism block can be removed by pushing the front slide lever (just below the letter "T" of Exakta) downward and at the same time lifting the prism block upward.
The film back door can be opened by pulling down the nickel-chrome hook on the left and, at the same time, pulling the film door open.
The lens has been tested and is in excellent condition. This lens uses the Exakta bayonet mount.
The Meyer-Optik Görlitz Domiplan f2.8/50mm is a fantastic lens for photographers seeking a lens with character and an artistic look, notably for its distinctive "bokeh" for which this lens is well known.
It is a version in the well-known "Zebra" finish, which means that the two rings (diaphragm and focus ring) have a checkered zebra pattern. These are harder to find and rarer.
This lens does not offer the technical performance of modern lenses, but it has vintage charm and excellent build quality.
The offered lens has been checked and found to be good.
The lens is free of scratches and cleaning marks.
Focusing operates smoothly.
Aperture adjusts from f/2.8 to f/22 without issues.
There is no oil on the diaphragm blades.
The lens shows minimal signs of use (see photos, these are part of the description).
This very nice Exakta camera and lens are a beautiful addition for any collector who is still looking for a piece of history, because this is what Exakta has done in photography... history written.
The package will be shipped with Track & Trace number and insurance and with sturdy packaging.
NOTE:
I ship my goods only and exclusively with a Track & Trace number including insurance to prevent accidental damage and theft.
