Wide Collection of Insects and Arachnids Preserved in Transparent Resin – Entomology / Wunderkammer
Splendid lot of over 41 assorted specimens
Up for auction is a vast, fascinating, and varied collection of real insects, arachnids, and myriapods, carefully embedded in blocks of glossy transparent resin. This excellent taxidermy-like preservation technique allows observation of every minuscule anatomical detail of the specimens from all angles (360 degrees), keeping them forever from the wear of time and making them safe to handle.
Condition:
The items are presented in excellent overall condition. The resin is clear and glossy, allowing optimal study or display. Very slight, normal signs of surface wear on the blocks may be present, but they do not affect the viewing of the specimen in the slightest. The display cases/containment boxes visible in the photos are included to facilitate organization and conservation.
Dimensions:
The resin blocks have variable sizes (as shown in the photos where they are held in the hand), specifically designed to accommodate both the smallest insects and giant specimens.
