Description from the seller
Pair of gilded bronze table supports with putti decoration – Louis XVI style – 19th century
Rare pair of decorative gilded bronze supports depicting four finely modeled putti (cherubs) in the Louis XVI taste.
Each set consists of two figures resting on an oval base. Reunited, the four putti join hands and form a particularly elegant and decorative composition. The characters each bear a support intended to receive an element now absent, probably a glass top, a table centerpiece, or an ornamental element.
French work from the late 19th century, made in solid gilded bronze. The quality of casting, the substantial weight, and the beautiful old patina attest to careful workmanship.
