This large ruby crystal (corundum) comes from Mauritania, (Tiris Zemmour region) about 100 km from the town of Zouerate.
I found this ruby during research and scouting in the Mauritanian desert
I offer it as I found it; I have not subjected it to any thermal or chemical treatment, just cleaned with soapy water.
All photos were taken in natural daylight.
For some of them I placed the ruby on the flashlight of my mobile phone to show the strong fluorescence response characteristic of corundums (rubies and sapphires) under ultraviolet lighting, I additionally lit this ruby with a small lamp that emits ultraviolet light.
I photographed this gem as honestly and precisely as possible using daylight.
Please note that differences in screen settings and ambient lighting can lead to variations in color, saturation, and perceived tone.
The ruby you will receive is, of course, the one shown in the photos.
