Foursquare Principia is the third rum born from the collaboration between Richard Seale and Luca Gargano, following the success of Foursquare 2006 and Triptych.

It is a single blend distilled in 2008 and aged in two different types of wood: three years in ex-bourbon barrels and six years in ex-sherry barrels.

Its name derives from the theme of "back to the beginning," as the first Foursquare rum intended for export was Doorly's XO, which was finished in ex-sherry barrels. It is bottled Full Proof at 62% ABV.
