Original wine rack from 1978 from champagne house Tailliet. Beautiful used condition, rust on the hinge and chain as expected.

A pupitre is a wooden wine rack in which Champagne bottles are stored upside down to carry out the remuage. During remuage the bottles are turned by a few degrees daily during the second fermentation in the bottle and gradually brought more upright. This remuage is part of the méthode traditionnelle, the traditional production method of Champagnes, and it yields a natural, refined bubble in the wine.
