Vetrerie Murano - Drinking set (12) - Crystal

Set of 12 liquor goblets in light blown glass, mouth-blown and hand-polished, produced by Murano glassworks in the early decades of the 20th century. It bore an adhesive label that has been removed by washing. The stem features a knop (or "balustre") and a prominent edge in fine gold on the rim. It is a typical design of Murano-era crystal and glassware. The cup has a funnel-shaped form, slightly flared upward (tulip or conical style), smooth and without facets or engravings on the main body. The stem is worked and fashioned in torchon/balustre; a conspicuous central spherical knob (a drop or button element) interrupts the line, elongating the glass and providing a solid grip. The base is circular, flat, and proportionate to the width of the cup to ensure excellent stability. Measurements: height 11.4 cm × diameter 5.7 cm.
