RARE & AUTHENTIC: Meissen Porcelain Coffee Service – 1st Choice
Description:
Magnificent fine porcelain set from the prestigious German factory Meissen, nicknamed the “White Gold.” This duo comprises a tall coffee pot and its matching milk jug.
Model: “Neuer Ausschnitt” (New Cutout), an iconic form created in the 18th century.
Decoration: Fully hand-painted (« Bunte Blume »). Naturalistic floral decoration of great finesse depicting a violet and yellow iris, as well as garden flowers and crocuses.
Exceptional detail: The coffee pot lid is adorned with a sculpted raised button in the shape of a yellow rose, a high-quality signature of the manufacturer.
Marks and Authenticity:
Signature: Two crossed swords in cobalt blue underglaze.
Quality: 1st Choice (no milling scratches on the swords).
Dating: 1934 – 1945.
Traceability: Recessed model number (173) and painter’s number in red (126).
Condition:
Exceptional. The porcelain is radiant, the colors are vivid, and the reliefs (notably the rose on the lid) are perfectly preserved.
