A crystal Art Deco tiger sculpture by Georges Chevalier for Baccarat, circa 1925, carved from a single mass of clear lead crystal, measuring about 10 cm high, 14.5 cm long and 6 cm deep, and weighing 1029 g, in cubist modernist style and unmarked as an early Baccarat piece.

George Chevalier Panther "Baccarat"
This is a crystal Art Deco tiger sculpture in a Cubist style, designed by the French designer Georges Chevalier for the famous glassmaker Baccarat.
Design year: about 1925.
Style: Modernist, Cubist and abstract-geometric.
Material: Made from a single solid piece of clear lead crystal.
Dimensions: Approximately 10 cm high and 14.5 cm long.
Mark information: Original early examples from this period are unsigned.
Only from 1937 did Baccarat begin to structurally adorn its figurines with a brand name or impressed mark.
Georges Chevalier joined Baccarat in 1916 and played a key role in modernizing the style of the luxury brand in the 20th century.
This specific figurine (sometimes also referred to as the panther) is a sought-after collector's item from the heyday of the Art Deco period.
The panther is in good condition; on the bottom of the panther there is only a small air bubble that formed during production.
Very modern design for a 101-year-old piece.
