Nettel Deckrullo 9 x 12cm (Nettel Camerawerk, Sontheim / Heilbronn)
Manufacturing period: 1909 - 1919
Plate format: 9 x 12 cm or film packs
Lens: Tessar 4.5 / 15 cm
Shutter: Cloth - slit shutter up to 1/1200
horizontal view camera
Wooden case, brown leather
Bellows black
Frame viewfinder with pinhole sight
Handle on the left
Accessories: Lens protective cap on strap
In 1908 the existing company was renamed to Nettel Camerawerke. The best-known camera was the Deckrullo with a self-closing slit shutter. In 1919 Nettel merged with Drexler & Nagel into Contessa - Nettel. This was incorporated into Zeiss Ikon in 1926. From Zeiss Ikon the Deckrullo was offered as a press camera.
Serial number (case): 13844
Serial number (lens): 297304 ~ 1917
Condition:
Cosmetically, the over 100-year-old camera is in good condition and shows only minor signs of aging/use. The lens shows inside slight point-like inclusions, which can presumably be removed with expertise. 2 photos showing these inclusions are attached. The slit shutter works unreliably, as is common with cameras of this shutter type and age. The bellows is intact, as is the matte screen. The leather covering is in good – very good condition.
The photos are an integral part of the camera description and its condition.
