An antique walnut console in Empire Carlo X style, dating to 1800–1850, with a veneered walnut frame and a dark marble top, measures 109 cm wide, 93 cm high, 53 cm deep, originated from Italy, and is in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
Beautiful veneered walnut console, Italian mid-19th century period. Carlo X in overall excellent condition. This piece is an antique console dating from the 19th century. The style strongly recalls the Carlo X period (typical of Italian furniture from the first half of the 19th century). Materials: The structure is made of flame-figured walnut veneer, characterized by the typical flame-like grain. The top is in dark marble (often Bardiglio gray or Saint Anne marble). Design: It features the classic S-shaped or volute uprights and a shaped base resting on carved lion-paw feet, a detail typical of high-quality cabinetmaking of the era. Function: It was used as a parlor entrypiece in hallways or reception rooms, often topped by a large coordinated looking-glass. Shipping is trackable and insured; please note that due to the weight of the marble shipping may be more expensive, in which case I am available for pickup. I attach an appraisal by a well-known antiquities expert and registered with the court, Mr. Marco Zaia.
