This exceptional trapiche ruby shows the radial, cross-sectioned structure typical for this rare growth form, clearly extending through the entire crystal. The clearly discernible sector-like zones give the piece a graphic, almost architectural effect and make its formation history immediately visible.
Color-wise, the ruby ranges in warm red to purple and violet tones, varying with the angle of light. Partly translucent areas alternate with denser, mineral-influenced zones. At the edges and fracture surfaces, natural growth lines, fine textures and original surface features emerge, underscoring the raw character of the crystal.
Particularly impressive is the light transmission in thinner parts, where the interior of the ruby glows in intense reddish hues and the trapiche structure is further emphasized. Inclusions and natural irregularities are visible and authentic – they reinforce the individual expression of this rare corundum specimen.
