Description from the seller
Liturgical Chalice "Corte de María Reparadora" – Barcelona – Gilded Brass – Mid XX Century
Elegant and authentic Catholic liturgical chalice in gilded brass, made in Spain and originating from the historic community of Corte de María Reparadora in Barcelona. This is a sacred vessel of refined sobriety, expression of Iberian ecclesiastical production in the mid-20th century, intended for Eucharistic celebration in chapels, religious institutes, or convent altars.
The line is classic and balanced: the cup, with harmonious proportions and a slightly flared profile, sits on a slender stem interrupted by a central knot that ensured a secure grip during the most solemn moments of the liturgy. The foot, wide and stable, features a refined incised decoration along the rim with stylized vegetal motifs, while on the front part there is a shaped Latin cross, a symbolic element traditionally indicating the liturgical side of the celebrant.
Particularly interesting is the inscription carved on the bottom of the cup: "Corte de María Reparadora - Barcelona", direct testimony to the religious provenance of the object and its belonging to a spiritual reality deeply linked to Eucharistic adoration and Marian devotion to the répareratrice (repentant) grace. This detail gives the chalice a precise historic and devotional identity, making it not only a sacred ornament but also a meaningful testament to Spanish religious life of the twentieth century.
Completely made of gilded brass, it retains a pleasant patina of the era that highlights its authenticity and liturgical use. The surfaces show normal and physiological traces of time, light wear of the gilding and minimal signs of use compatible with its intended purpose and age. No deformations, dents, or structural defects are detected.
Height 20 cm. Cup diameter 8 cm. Foot diameter 11.5 cm.
Our interior designer/architect recommends: perfect as a decorative element in a study, a library, a collection of sacred art, or an environment characterized by ecclesiastical furnishings, where its discreet yet authoritative presence adds historical depth and symbolic value.
The photos are an integral part of the description and faithfully show the condition, quality, and details of the lot. Guaranteed careful packaging entrusted to professionals in the field.
