Decorative nutcracker in the shape of a crocodile, attributed to the Austrian designer Walter Bosse. This type of animal figure is characteristic of the playful mid-century design, the 1950s and 1960s.
The piece shows a beautiful dark patina with lighter accents. The jaw functions as a nutcracker and closes well.
Probably made in Austria, perhaps in collaboration with a workshop like Herta Baller.
Not signed, hence the attribution to Walter Bosse.
