Description from the seller
Daniel Aron – Pensions and Terraces in Tangier – 2012
Signed, dedicated and dated by the author.
This work did not have a large print run.
Photographic work devoted to Tangier, the mythical city whose photographer Daniel Aron has explored for more than twenty years—the atmospheres, discreet architectures and places charged with memory.
Through a series of color photographs, Daniel Aron focuses here on two emblematic realms of the city on the Strait: the old Tangier guesthouses, witnesses to a cosmopolitan past where writers, artists and travelers crossed paths, and the terraces of the medina, spaces suspended between sky and sea where an intimate life often remains invisible from the street.
A photographer deeply attached to Tangier since the mid-1990s, Daniel Aron develops an approach close to humanist photography, privileging ambience, traces of time and the memory of places.
His Tangier series today constitutes one of the most coherent bodies of work made on the contemporary city.
The offered copy has particular interest since it is enriched with a signed and dated author inscription by Daniel Aron, a sought-after feature for self-published works distributed in a limited edition.
