Description from the seller
Art Deco Mantel Clock "Nymph and Pan" - Pierre Sega - Marble and Onyx - 1920s/30s
A refined and rare mantel clock in full Art Deco style (circa 1920–1930), the work of the noted French sculptor Pierre Sega.
The sculptural composition, titled "Nymph and Pan", features a metal group (antimony) with a beautiful bronzed patina: it depicts a young dancer reaching toward a faun seated and playing Pan's flute.
The sumptuous central ogival structure is made of gray marble and fine onyx, and houses a gilded rhomboid dial with the era's characteristic stylized numerals.
All rests on a solid two-tone geometric base.
Technical details and condition:
Mechanism:
Original mechanical movement of French manufacture, stamped on the back with "MADE IN FRANCE" and serial number 76579.
Period: 1920s / 1930s (Art Deco).
Overall excellent general condition. The marble shows a small chip in one corner, see photo.
The bronze patina of the sculptures is well preserved and uniform.
Mechanical condition: [Specify if: "Mechanism functioning, without a key and probably needing inspection."]
A splendid collectible piece, perfect for enriching modern or classical interiors with a touch of authentic vintage design.
There are normal signs of wear; it would benefit from a thorough cleaning.
P.S. The shipping costs include careful packing to prevent any damage during transit
